Tyne Tunnel Buoys Progress

They're finished!

I've had a good 2 weeks of painting the buoys at Northern Protective Coatings in Bill Quay. They are still there at the moment, being given a coat of anti graffiti varnish before they are taken to the Tyne Tunnel site next week.

After a lot of preparation, developing and finalising designs, I'm really happy with the way they've turned out, after being increased in size and painted on something which is such an unusual shape. The paint is great quality too, and nice and bright (Cromadex).

Here are some photos of the progress of the buoys, including a couple of newspaper articles...

South Tyneside Gazette

And the finished pieces;

Cyclist

Lifeboat

Coble

Surfer

Priory

St Mary's Lighthouse

The pins ready to be painted and installed on site.

And this is the view I had from the workshop.

So they will be getting picked up on Monday 31st to be installed on site.
